Former Chicago Sun-Times printing plant gets high-tech facelift

Five years after the presses stopped at the former Sun-Times printing plant, the space will open soon with a new owner and a new identity as a massive data center. QTS Realty Trust, a Kansas-based data center developer, said construction on the first phase of the 317,000-square-foot center at 2800 S. Ashland Ave. is nearly complete. It’s expected to open in mid-July.
