VMware vCloud® Government Service (vCGS)
Whether spurred by the need to increase efficiency, meet government mandates or deal with rapidly expanding data sets and workloads, more and more agencies are moving some or all of their applications or infrastructure to the cloud. However, for many agencies, the most cost-effective, secure and efficient solution is a hybrid cloud model that allows them to not only leverage their existing investments in IT infrastructure, but also extend their systems seamlessly to the technology platform that best meets their needs.
VMware vCloud® Government Service is an enterprise-class hybrid cloud service that delivers the tried and tested VMware capabilities most government organizations are using today, with the added security and compliance assurance of FedRAMP authorization.
The service delivers a faster path to cloud value for government agencies by providing a common platform to leverage internal and external cloud resources, and allows government agencies to run today’s and tomorrow’s applications onsite or in the cloud without compromise, using a more supportive and integrated cloud infrastructure.
vCloud Government Service operates with a FedRAMP Provisional Authorization to Operate (P-ATO) issued by the Joint Authorization Board (JAB) and is generally available to all U.S. government and defense organizations.
