A View From the Top: QTS VIP Event at VMworld 2016

QTS hosted VMworld 2016 attendees and industry leaders last month at the House of Blues Foundation Room for our VMworld VIP Networking Event on August 30, 2016. Through a partnership with VMware and Carahsoft, we offered engaging presentations about industry trends against a backdrop of fun with live music, door prizes and a 63rd floor view of the Las Vegas skyline for 145 attendees.

“It was a first class event with first class speakers,” said Frank Eagle, QTS Vice President of Business Development.

QTS Vice President of Cloud Services Aditya “D” Joglekar set the stage for the presenters, offering insight into key concerns facing data center customers when considering services and partners: cloud services, hybrid solutions and compliance. D highlighted the importance of compliance and the way a hybrid cloud service should offer a customizable solution to fit the needs of companies in government, healthcare and federal landscapes.

The first presenter was Mark Malindog, a senior associate with one of the world’s largest architecture and design firms. Mark provided a unique perspective on outsourcing data center needs and what to look for in a data center partner. Mark went on to describe his company’s strong relationship with QTS and the dynamic ways an organization can use QTS services.

Next up was ZipIt Wireless, a QTS private cloud services customer. ZipIt is a communications technology company offering secure and compliant corporate messaging with best-in-class, network-connected devices managed through cloud-based web portals or mobile apps. In the healthcare industry specifically, physicians and other healthcare providers need HIPAA-compliant messaging to send and receive patient care information and support emergency dispatch communications.

ZipIt’s Vice President of Business Development Ralph Heredia offered a glimpse into the world of secure, compliant messaging in the corporate landscape. Ralph provided an example of this need when describing the out-of-date pager system many hospitals use to contact healthcare providers. These systems don’t provide important features like read-receipts and smartphone integration. ZipIt offers all of these features and more in a HIPAA and FedRAMP-compliant system.

Representatives from VMworld host and QTS partner VMware were also in attendance, networking with attendees and discussing software-defined data center networking, the ability to build and manipulate complex networks and cross-cloud architecture services.

QTS is focused on helping companies achieve and sustain HIPAA, FISMA, DIACAP, ITAR and ISO-compliant ATOs. To learn more about how we can help you reach your cloud and compliance goals, contact us or give us a call at 877.QTS.DATA.
