What is your favorite part of working for QTS?

I love working with QTS’ers! The people I work with have great attitudes and a true passion for their work. Interacting with my co-workers is very energizing. If I ever need something or have a question, there is no shortage of people willing to help.

What is a day in the life of your position like?

Every day brings new adventures. Whether it is maintaining the equipment that keeps our customers power and cooling going, training our technical teams, working with vendors, solving problems, performing administrative tasks, or showing our site off to potential customers- each day brings opportunities for growth and development.

What passions do you have within and outside of work?

At work, I am energized by helping others achieve their goals and exceeding our customers’ expectations.

Outside of work, I really like spending time in the great outdoors- hiking, running, camping. I love enjoying quality time with my family and giving back to my community through working with youth sports.

Tell us about your growth within QTS since you were hired.

I have learned so much in my time here already. I am fortunate enough to have some great mentors who pointed me in the right direction and gave me the guidance I needed to develop. Now I like to pay that same mentorship forward. I try to have a continuous improvement mindset and always look for new ways to learn and grow.

What advice do you have for future hires joining QTS or your department specifically?

  1. Maintain a learner’s mindset- even if you’ve been doing this for a while, there are always new things to learn or improve upon. Have the humility to accept that you don’t know everything.
  2. Find a good mentor who can help keep you on track with your goals and push you to develop beyond your expectations.
  3. Keep a positive attitude and have fun- there are a lot of opportunities to enjoy your time at work, get to know your co-workers, and give back to the community. Work is so much better with a positive attitude!

What does a perfect day outside the office look like for you?

On a perfect day, I think I would go for a walk with my dog and get a really good cup of coffee. Maybe a long hike, or go to a flea market or food cart pod, or explore a new area with my family. And there would definitely be a nap in there somewhere too!
