Employee Spotlight: Jason Romero, Executive Vice President, Development

QTS Location: Overland Park

Time with QTS:  4 months

  1. What does a day in your position look like?

Typically working cross-functionally with internal teams across the company through a combination of in-person and virtual meetings while I’m either in Overland Park, Ashburn, or Duluth.

  2. What is your favorite part of working for QTS?

Aside from officing next to the Marketing team, I am a big fan of the company’s emphasis on its core values and a culture that fosters constant improvement.

  3. What passions do you have inside and outside of the office?

Inside the office, I like getting to know people and emphasizing the importance of a collaborative learning environment, meaning teams and individuals can excel rapidly when constantly teaching and learning from each other regardless of position or experience.

Outside the office, I enjoy spending time with my wife, 7-year old and 4-year daughters, and 2-year old son.  Our family schedule is busy with kids’ activities such as dance, gymnastics, tennis, ice skating, soccer, and t-ball.  I also enjoy playing ice hockey, barbecuing, and skiing.

  4. What are you most excited for in 2023 in your career?

I am excited to be a part of QTS’s fascinating growth story and to get more immersed in the company and industry.

  5. What does a perfect day outside of the office look like for you?

A perfect day outside the office would start with an early morning workout before the kids wake up, followed by a quality banana protein shake and a breakfast burrito before transitioning to a hazelnut or French vanilla flavored coffee.  After running around to kids’ activities, I’d smoke some ribs and brisket while watching the University of Kansas Jayhawks football team win the national championship (with the enthusiastic support of my wife and in the same year as winning another basketball national championship).  I’d then eat some New-York style pizza for dinner while watching a Jean-Claude Van Damme or Stephen Seagal movie (but realistically it’d end up being macaroni & cheese and a Disney movie with popcorn and M&Ms, which I’d be just as happy with).
